Inspired by tumblr.com/thebigopus I decided to check my last.fm and see which songs I listened to the most from the 2000s, at least since last.fm started tracking my listening habits in 2006.  I was surprised by some of the results (did I REALLY listen to that much Peter Bjorn & John?!  No Thermals?!) though I can tell a lot of it was due to some musical-therapy mixes I made for myself and listened to on repeat.  Thus a lot of sad sack tunes, but whatev.  I’ve put an asterisk next to the tracks that subjectively I would really put on a best-of list.  Plus a subjective list would also have to include how I listened The Arcade Fire’s first CD on repeat pre-2006, Ted Leo + RX’s “Parallel or Together,” Sufjan Stevens’ “Chicago,” LCD Soundsystem’s “All My Friends” and The Narrator’s “Surfer Jew” — I resolve to start listening to those more.  And Beyonce’s “Single Ladies.” Here’s the top 50:
